Abstract

Green building issues accelerated the adoption of renewable energy since building consume substantial amounts of energy and contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions which effect to the building performance. This study investigates the role of renewable energy specifically solar, wind, biomass, and geothermal sources in optimizing green building performance. Mixed method combination of literature review and interview the related professionals from diverse backgrounds. Result shows excessive energy consumption, CO2 emissions, poor environmental quality, outdated technology and rising operational costs impact to green building performance. In conclusion, utilization of green building technology integrates with environmental sustainability significantly optimize green building performance.
